How it works

Four moments. One record.

Every payment earns a stamp in your Credit Passport. Fill it, and the last stamp is a bank saying yes.

1
Day one

Your first yes

Choose your product and a term of 5 to 15 months. No credit check, no deposit, no interest. Your passport is issued.

2
Every month

A payment, a stamp, a message

Your debit order goes through and we stamp your passport and tell you how many are left to your card.

Our partner

A major South African bank

The card is a real bank credit card in your name, issued on the strength of your Save2Buy record. We’ll announce our partner here as soon as the paperwork is signed.

The bank makes the final decision on every card in line with the National Credit Act. Save2Buy earns you the reward; the bank issues it.

Why it works

Your payments are the proof

A credit bureau can only see what you’ve borrowed. A full Save2Buy passport shows a bank something better: months of paying on time, by choice, with no one chasing you.

Questions

The plain answers.

The whole promise rests on paying on time. Here is exactly what that means, and what happens if life gets in the way.

What if I know a payment is going to be a problem?

Tell us before the date. A payment that is rescheduled with us in advance, and then made, does not count against your reward. A debit order that simply bounces does. Talking to us early is the single best thing you can do.

What if I miss a payment?

Before delivery, a missed payment just moves your delivery date, with no penalty or interest. You keep your plan and your goods. It does mean this plan won’t qualify for the card, but your next completed plan starts with a clean passport.

I’ve been declined or blacklisted before. Can I still get the card?

Save2Buy never checks your credit, so you can always start a plan. The card is issued by the bank, which makes its own decision under the National Credit Act, but it makes that decision with your full Save2Buy payment record in front of it. That record is the point.

How is the card limit worked out?

It’s 25% of the total price of the plan you completed. Buy for R60 000 and your limit is R15 000; buy for R100 000 and it’s R25 000. Use the calculator above for your own number.

Do I have to take the card?

No. The card is a reward, not a condition. Your Save2Buy plan stays interest-free and fee-free whether you take it up or not, and you can decline it at any point.

What does the card cost?

The card carries the bank’s own credit terms, interest rate and fees, which the bank will give you in writing before you accept it. Save2Buy does not charge anything for the reward.

Does Save2Buy report my payments to the credit bureaus?

Not at the moment. Your Save2Buy record is shared with our partner bank, with your consent, for the purpose of the card. We’ll update this page if that changes.

Save2Buy Rewards is offered in partnership with a major South African bank. The reward is a bank-issued credit card with a credit limit equal to 25% of the total purchase price of a Save2Buy plan completed with every instalment paid on time. Card issue, limit and terms are determined by the bank in accordance with the National Credit Act and its own lending criteria; Save2Buy does not itself provide credit. Full programme terms are provided with your contract.
